Train Derailment Prompted Evacuations Near Charlotte
A train derailment prompted evacuations in Cramerton, NC, near Charlotte Monday.
The train, carrying LP Gas, derailed Monday afternoon prompting law enforcement officers to go door to door, evacuating everyone within 150 feet of the train. Hazmat crews suited up to determine if any of the cars were leaking and determined they were not. There are no injuries reported, there was at least one person on board the train. The cause of the derailment is still under investigation.
