Three Schools Celebrate Great Improvement

Three high schools in the East made a list of the state's top turnaround schools, based on high student performance.

South Creek High in Martin County, Jones Senior High, and Beddingfield High in Wilson County were all recognized for improved performance. These schools had at least 80 percent of students' end-of-course test scores at or above proficient.

Additionally, five years ago, the schools were among the state's 66 lowest-performing high schools, according to the State Department of Public Instruction.
