Close to 500 teachers from Pitt and surrounding counties attended the 9th annual tech fest Friday at South Central High School in Winterville.
Teachers participated in interactive classes to learn ways to better incorporate technology in classrooms.
For example, using Google programs to help them collaborate with their students.
Tim DeCresle, digital learning director for Pitt County Schools, says, "Technology is always changing so we have to keep our teachers up to date, not only with the resources but with what the students are doing, so we want to better train our teachers to better utilize devices kids are purchasing and bringing into schools so we maximize the engagement in the classroom to make our students successful."
During the session, students also presented their handcrafted robots as an example of how technology can be used in the classroom.
