A Japanese fishing trawler adrift at sea for more than a year is now at the bottom of the pacific.

The so-called "ghost ship" was swept away in last year's tsunami. Officials say it posed an environmental hazard, and was a threat to other ships.

The coast guard opened fired with cannons, it took more than four hours to sink.

This South Carolina hair salon is in pieces after a car lost control, and plowed through the building.

It happened just before dawn Thursday, when -- luckily -- the business was closed.

Police are still investigating the cause of the accident. The driver was hospitalized with minor injuries.

This 50-pound bucket of change may add up to 160-dollars, but the city of fort Collins, Colorado wouldn't take it to pay a speeding fine.
College student Ted Nischan says he had to use financial aid to pay the fine, or face a suspended license.

He later learned there was a counting machine just across the hall at parking services.

The two departments now say they'll work together more closely for such situations
