Lawmakers are looking at potentially changing the law on the school calendar again.
A senate bill that talks mostly about improving reading proficiency rates includes moving the first day of school to being after the next to the last Monday in August as opposed to being after August 25. Additionally, school would end before the second Friday in June instead of June 10.
If the bill is passed it would affect the upcoming school year and could impact the already approved calendars for county school systems.
