Retirement Reception Held For Wayne Bowers

Greenville's city manager said goodbye Wednesday and hello to retirement.

Wayne Bowers had been city manager in Greenville for over seven years. He told WITN he had mixed emotions about retiring. He said he would miss the people he works with, but he's excited to take a break and be with family.

A reception was held for bowers in city hall Wednesday afternoon.

Bowers said he had many accomplishments in Greenville, including the railroad connector project and new recreational facilities.

No word yet on who will permanently replace Bowers.

City Of Greenville Is Going To Miss This Man. He Was The Glue Who Held This City Goverment Together. He Was the Only Bright Spot In The City Council Meetings. I Guess He Just Got Burned Out & Saw The Way City Council Was Pushing Greenville Downhill Like A Snowball From Hell. You Will Be Missed Mr. Bowers. Enjoy Your Retirement.
