If you haven't heard the name Guy Harvey, you've still probably seen his work. He's know for his paintings of blue marlins and other marine life.

WITN spoke with Harvey at a North Carolina Seafood Festival event in Morehead City Friday. He is a unique blend of artist, scientist, diver, angler, conservationist and explorer. His artwork can be found in art exhibits, stores, galleries, restaurants and at fishing tournaments. Harvey says his passion comes from his research to protect our oceans, fish, and coral reefs. Friday night Harvey was part of a VIP reception at 36North on Evans Street in Morehead City. Together with The Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation he hopes research can help others understand how to protect the world’s fish resources.

" I understand about fisherman issues which is why now after 26 years in this business I give a lot back to conservation and education programs," said Harvey.

Harvey is a respected conservationist all over the world. If you would like a chance to meet him, he will be back Saturday from 12-2pm at 36 North at 413 Evans Street.
