(NBC News) Saturday marks a year since the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary that left 20 students and six faculty members dead.
Today the victims are being remembered at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C.
Organizers call the ceremony a vigil for the victims of gun violence.
Relatives of other gun violence victims from cities across the country joined the Sandy Hook group to highlight the deaths of more than 30,000 people killed nationwide by firearms since the December 14 school shooting.
