Procter And Gamble To Dump More Than Half Of Its Brands

Procter and Gamble plans to dump about 90 of its smaller, less popular brands.

The nation's largest consumer product company announced the move Friday. This move will still leave the company with around 70 to 80 brands.

Some of the less popular brands will be sold to new owners while others will be shut down.

P and G will continue to sell many of the best known products in American households.

Brands that will be unaffected by the change include Charmin toilet paper, Tide laundry detergent, Gillette razors, Pampers diapers, Crest toothpaste and Bounty paper towels.

The brands the company is keeping account for 90% of the business' annual sales of $83 billion.
