One suspected thief probably can't believe his luck.
The Pitt County Sheriff's Office says 23-year-old Thomas Robinson broke into a home and stole gold jewelry.
They say Robinson took the jewelry to Carolina Gold inside the Greenville Mall. The twist is that the victim's daughter works at Carolina Gold and recognized the items in question, as well as the suspect.
The sheriff's office says that crimes involving gold theft are on the rise, and that people need to take extra precautions when securing their valuables.
