Hundreds of students in the east filled their backpacks with water and walked four miles Thursday all for a good cause.
Oakwood School students in Greenville participated in the walk to bring awareness about the water crisis in underdeveloped countries.
The students raised money and walked four miles carrying 6 liters of water each in order to understand how women and children in developing countries travel to supply their community with water.
They began at the Greenville Town Commons and ended at Elm Street Park.
The money raised, about $6,000, will go towards helping countries in need of water and sanitation areas.
