The hype that Scotty McCreery could be an ECU Pirate is now history, the American Idol Winner announced he's off to NC State in the fall. McCreery says that's where his father went.
McCreery told a reporter about his college plans before the Academy of Country Music Awards last night, where he won the fan-voted new artist of the year honor.
Other big ACM winners include Taylor Swift who won entertainer of the year for t he second year in a row. The 22-year-old had been planning to attend the show with a fan who's struggling with cancer, but he was too sick to make it.
Miranda Lambert won album of the year and best female vocalist, her husband Blake Shelton won best male vocalist and vocal group of the year went to Lady Antebellum.
