NC Among The States Targeted In New Whistleblower Site

An Appalachian version of Wiki Leaks launched Tuesday focusing on North Carolina and several other states.

The website where whistleblowers can anonymously share official documents was started by a handful of freelance journalists and computer programmers.

The co-founder, Jim Tobias, says government and corporate whistleblowers can post documents on the website without revealing their own identities.

A team of reporters and programmers will verify the legitimacy of the documents before they're publicly accessible.

Honest Appalachia will focus its initial outreach efforts in North Carolina and six other states including: West Virginia, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Kentucky, and Tennessee.
