NC Ferry Toll Hikes Put On Hold

People who have been fighting proposed new tolls on North Carolina state ferries won't have to worry about them for now.

The general assembly passed Senate Bill 402 and the legislature will restore $5 million originally removed from the ferry budget so tolls will not be added or increased at least for the 2013-2014 fiscal year.

Hundreds of people have been writing letters to legislators to try and stop ferry tolls. Signs are up all over Pamlico County saying "No To The Tolls."
