NC Domestic Violence Victims Of 2013 Remembered At Jacksonville Vigil

52 people have been killed so far this year in North Carolina in what police say were domestic assaults. Thursday night all of those victims were remembered in Jacksonville as Domestic Violence Awareness month continues.

A bell was rung as names of victims of domestic violence were read at the 18th annual Onslow County Women's Center vigil.

Amanda King spoke about the abuse she says she endured at the hands of her marine husband. Sgt. Jordan King is in jail awaiting trial, charged with the murder of their two month old son Deklin King Who died February 13th of blunt force trauma to the head.

52 Pairs of shoes were laid out, and hand made tee-shirts were hung to represent the 52 people who died of domestic violence this year in our state.
