Jones County Bricklayer Splits $234,876 Lottery Prize

A Jones County man will split a $234,876 jackpot after he and another person matched all five numbers on the Carolina Cash 5 drawing April 3rd.

Carlos James, a bricklayer from Maysville, purchased his winning ticket at the Piggly Wiggly in Maysville. "It's still unbelievable," James said as he collected his winnings at lottery headquarters with his fiancée, Janet Fordham. She discovered their good luck when, on the night of the drawing, she saw the winning numbers on TV.

The Jones County couple says they will use their after-tax winnings of nearly $80,000 to pay for their wedding.

A woman from Harnett County also picked the same numbers.
