Verizon Wireless told Wall Street analysts that it plans to make customers to switch to a new data plan on their next upgrade.
These new plans will no longer offer unlimited data. The plan is that by midsummer, Verizon customers will have to switch their data plans on their next upgrade, analysts said.
This policy even applies to customers that are grandfathered with an unlimited plan. Many customers are unhappy with this new plan.
"That was the reason I switched from AT&T to Verizon - because of all the stuff they had going on. So yeah, if they slowed it down I'd have to switch servers because I need unlimited data," Verizon customer Remington McFadden said.
Verizon has not said what kind of alternative plan it will offer or how much it will cost.
