Happy 110th Birthday Miss Mandie Kenan

Passing the century mark may be a dream for some-- but how about living past a hundred years old like a Duplin County woman who celebrated her 110th birthday Tuesday.

There were no candles but plenty of good wishes for Mandie Hayes Kenan of Beulaville on her 110th birthday.

She had letters of well wishes from the governor and local commissioners- as she gathered with family.

While she uses a wheelchair for convenience, she still likes getting outside and loves flowers.

Her great grandchildren say her secret is walking, and staying spunky.

For her birthday dinner Kenan was having her favorite meal of pigs feet and tail, collards, and cornbread.

All of her hometown of Beulaville is invited to her bigger bash this Saturday at the world's largest frying pan in Rose Hill.
