It may not be a record, but one Greenville dog is up to her ears in puppies. All seventeen pups in her litter survived.
Larry Hoggard says the seventeen Great Dane puppies were all born naturally on June 30th. Hoggard says initially they thought "Bella" had given birth to just 15 puppies, but then she had two more pups.
The owner says their father, "Marley" is actually scared of the little ones. Now, he says comes the fun of finding good homes for all of them.
By the way, the record for one litter appears to be 24, born to a Neapolitan Mastiff in 2005.
