Deputies say a man with four kilos of cocaine inside his vehicle was stopped for doing 116 miles per hour in a 70 mile per hour zone.
Pasquotank County Sheriff Randy Cartwright says the cocaine, along with marijuana and $68,000 in cash, were found in the Chevy Camaro after the traffic stop Wednesday morning.
Travis Rascoe of Hertford is facing numerous drug charges, including three counts of trafficking cocaine and speeding. State troopers and deputies originally stopped Rascoe for speeding around 10:00 a.m. on Highway 17 north.
The cocaine has a street value of more than $340,000.
The 34-year-old man was jailed on a $131,000 bond. Deputies say he bonded out of jail shortly after his arrest.
