February 29th was a special day for people born on this day as they celebrate birthday's once every four years because of leap year.
T.J. Haddock, Jr. turned 16 Wednesday and says his age is the source of a lot of jokes between his family and friends. Haddock is actually 64, and was born on leap day back in 1948.
Vidant Medical Center had 11 babies born on leap day, including newborn twins Maggie and Aiden Humbles, who came early at 35 weeks and are doing well in the neo-natal intensive care unit. Also born Wednesday was Keiara Pilgreen, whose mother says it will always be a very special day. "It's gonna be kinda fun because you have that four-year-period where she gets to say she's young and she'll be young forever. It's exciting, it's different - it's very different."
Pilgreen says baby Keiara will celebrate her birthday on March 1st on non-leap-day years, which is when Haddock says he celebrates. The newborn twins' mother says she's still deciding between February 28th and March 1st.
