Some bikers are coming to the rescue in Duplin County to provide Christmas for a family whose father is battling cancer.

Brian "Rerun" Braswell of the Kenansville based "Helping Hands Brotherhood of Bikers," puts is simply. "They were caught broadsided."

Braswell is talking about the Swart family. Deanna Swart says her husband Glenn was diagnosed with lymphoma in July- and he had a lot of complications from that. So for six months- Deanna has stayed home with Glenn-- helping him fight the cancer as best they could. Christmas kind of snuck up out of nowhere for the family of four.

Glenn says "After being out a of a paycheck for six months--didn't really know where Christmas was comin from."

That's where "Helping Hands Brotherhood of Bikers" stepped in, first providing a Thanksgiving meal, and now helping out with Christmas.

The bikers are providing food, gifts for the kids, and a new bed to make Glenn's time at home easier. It's part of the $40,000 this brotherhood has spent just helping their community this year. And Braswell says they are more than happy to do it.

And the Swarts say they are simply grateful. Glenn says, "It takes a lot of pressure off my soul."
