East Carolina Native Kicks Off 2nd Round Of The Voice's Live Performances

Eastern Carolina native Katrina Parker started the second round of live performances for the top 24 contestants on ‘The Voice Monday night singing the Smashing Pumpkins classic "Tonight, Tonight." She grew up in Holly Ridge in Onslow County but lives in Los Angeles now. Voting starts at 9:55 p.m. Monday night and you can watch results on WITN Tuesday night at 9:00 p.m..

Before hitting the stage, the 34-year-old talked about how an illness kept her from singing for a few years. Luckily, Parker recovered and auditioned after host Carson Daly surprised her at her insurance job.

Performing in front of a violin section, the singer performed a more theatrical version of the song and she got lukewarm praise from Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo. Her coach, Adam Levine said she "nailed it."

Voting starts at 9:55 p.m. Monday and ends at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday. You can vote on nbc.com, on The Voice's Facebook page, or you can call 866-U-LOVE-01.
