It was a night full of inspirational stories, from people who have suffered with disabilities, but continue to pursue their goals and dreams at the 47th annual Eastern Carolina Vocational Center banquet on Thursday night at Rock Springs Center in Greenville.

Hundreds of locals gathered to enjoy dinner and hear some of those stories, and our very own Dave Jordan was the master of ceremonies. Mandy Harvey was the guest performer. She's lost her hearing, but hasn't let it stop her from singing. She told us about her appreciation for ECVC.

"You have a lot to give, let's figure out the best way to do that and put you in the place where you can shine. And that's what this whole company is about, and that's an amazing thing," said Harvey.

Harvey sang numerous songs on stage, describing what each song meant to her throughout the process of obtaining and overcoming her disability.

ECVC is a private not-for-profit corporation providing job training and employment services to people with disabilities in Pitt and surrounding counties in Eastern North Carolina.
