The New Hanover County Courthouse is closing for business because of bedbugs.
County officials say the courthouse will be closed Thursday to allow exterminators full access to the building. The bedbugs were discovered Wednesday in a work area by court personnel. New Hanover County property management was alerted. Officials say it will take most of the day to deal with the bugs. District Attorney Ben David says his office will reschedule Thursday's cases with the hope that court can return to normal operations on Friday.
