There are disturbing allegations about an Omaha, Nebraska mother. She's accused of having sex with her teenage child.

The Omaha Police report about it is brief but shocking in just a few words. It tells the story of a mother who didn't play a motherly role. Instead, her now 15-year old son accuses her of having sex with him on a nightly basis when he was in the seventh and eighth grades at the ages of 14 and 15 years old. The boy says his mother was addicted to prescription drugs at the time.

When the sex between the mom and son happened, the teen lived with his mom in Omaha. The mother then temporarily lost custody and moved to Fort Calhoun, and the son moved in with his dad. Our sister station, WOWT in Omaha, spoke with the boy's dad Tuesday night. He says he and his wife just found out about all of this a few weeks ago, but that he had had a gut feeling on previous occasions that something was wrong. It just took time for it to all come out.

The father also says his son is getting help to deal with the abuse. A counselor with the Child Saving Institute says the right help is a necessity in cases of sexual abuse.

Counselor Traci Penrod-McCormick says, "it's important not to discuss too much with the child what's going on because you want to make sure the people who are most trained in these type of circumstances can have that first opportunity to discuss any concerns with them."

But before you can get help, Penrod-McCormick says we must see the signs and that’s something any of us can do. Look for “children that have a marked change in behavior, they may become more withdrawn than normal or they could become more aggressive or having some acting out behaviors."

We are not revealing the mother's name to protect the identity of her son. The 41-year old suspect remains in the Douglas County Jail Tuesday. She faces a charge of felony sexual assault.

A child is raised to listen to their parents. None of you know what this mother said or did to this child so she could do these things to him. All child molesters brainwash their victims, some do so enough to make the victim feel sorry for them. You are sad, sad people to put this child down the way you have. If it were your child I am positive you would never put comments up here like you have. This is why so many child continue to be abused, because people say nasty things like what you have posted to them and make them feel like it is their fault. SHAME ON YOU!! To those that bash the lord, keep your mouth shut, everyone has a right to believe in what they want to, you do not have a right to tell them they are wrong!!

Unfortunately, incest happens all the time. Sick and disgusting, yes, but if it weren't for incest and inbreeding, there would be a lot less of you cretins to comment on these stories

A teenager, not able to stop his mother, be for real. Unless he was druged, he knew what was going on. The mother should go away for a long time, but that teen doesn't need pity, he needs help, mentally. If it never happened, then I apologize in advance, but dont pity that teenager.

for all you fools who think this kid "knew better"...even the courts recognize the inability of a child to refuse a parent because of the influence that parent has over them AND, even on the freakish off chance that he could have participated willingly, he is not of legal age to give consent. as for those who allege that it's more difficult for a woman to rape a man. in most instances, that's true. however, consider the lack of control that a 14/15 yr old boy has over his anatomy. stop assuming you know what happened 1/2 way across the country to a boy you've never met. a man was just arrested in NJ for raping his 5 daughters. are you going to say the girls knew better, that they wanted it? What is wrong with you people?

First of all, anyone who brings North vs. South, Democrat vs. Republican, Obama, McCain, Bush, Palin, or God into any article that doesn't call for them instantly loses all credibility. If you really need a controversial angle to spin your point, your point probably wasn't any good to start with. Second, you get a child's grade from age by adding 5 (6 if they were born in September or later). So 7th grade at 14 means he was held back at least one year. Two if he was born before September. Third, no teenager who has discovered sex wants anything to do with their parent or sibling(s) or aunt/uncle or cousins of the gender they're attracted to. However due to what all is involved in the physical act of performing rape, it's far more difficult for a woman to force herself on an unwilling male. Much harder than man on girl. Think about it. That said, it's not impossible so let's not assume it is. Fourth, the pills weren't the reason, many abuse pills and don't commit forcible incest.
