ARCHIVES: Babysitter Accused Of Making Sex Video With Child

A Minnesota man has pleaded guilty to answering an online advertisement for baby-sitting work and then using the client's child to make a pornographic video.

Aaron Jay Lemon admitted Wednesday to producing the video in a plea deal with federal prosecutors. The 23-year-old also admitted to coercing a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct.

The plea agreement says Lemon filmed the child in St. Paul after seeking the baby-sitting job through Craigslist.

The U.S. Attorney's office says the case was part of a project that encourages agencies to investigate the sexual exploitation of children over the Internet.

The office says Lemon faces a maximum of 30 years in prison.

Law enforcement needs to shut down Craigslist once and for all. Parents never should use it to obtain a babysitter - ask family, friends, or co-workers - never strangers.

Okay so you go to craigslist to find a babysitter, red flag number 1. Then you hire a 23 year old man who obviously LOVES children, red flag number 2. What were the parent(s) thinking (or not?) Children are a gift, not possessions to be handed off to total strangers so mom & dad can have a night out. I hope this man gets put away for a long time, and I hope the parents of this poor kid seek counseling for him/her and think long and hard the next time they decide to shop around online for a babysitter.

I can understand the need for a babysitter, but their are plenty of places to look other than Craigs List. The parents are crazy for advertising there.
