DSM To Receive Safety Award

DSM Pharmaceuticals in Greenville will receive the North Carolina Department of Labor's million-hour Safety Award today.

The State Labor Commissioner is coming to town to present the award.

DSM currently employs 1,100 people.

Back in 2007, DSM was named Pitt county's Industry of the Year.

    Great Job!!! Andy you do make some since, but 165 or 1650 employees. You still have to reach the 1,000,000 safe working hours. I was a Safety Manager for 3 years and that is something to be proud of. Good Job DSM. Keep up the good work TH.

    This is a great award but lets look at the math a little. If 1,100 employees worked one day that is 8,800 hours. It would take just over 113 days of working without an accident for 1,100 employees to reach 1,000,000 hours. This would be a whole lot more impressive if it was a small company of say 165 employees which would take them almost 3 years to reach this accomplishment.
