Powerball Winner To Get A "Mountain" Of Cash

The North Carolina Education Lottery announced Sunday that the winning ticket from Saturday night's Powerball drawing was sold in Asheville.

Spokeswoman Pamela Walker confirmed the ticket was sold at a Wilco Hess convenience store.

The winning numbers were 14, 22, 52, 54, 59, with the Powerball 4. The ticket was worth a $141.4 million annuity or $69.6 million in cash, minus federal and state withholdings, if the winner elects to take the lump sum.

It's the third time that North Carolina has had a winner in the Powerball drawing since the state established a lottery on May 30, 2006.

To Wendy: Where did that come from? Are you sure you're on the right story? No one has debated the issue of whether the lottery is a sin. Also, saying all "Bible Thumpers" will end up in a strip club is profiling. Sorry, doesn't happen. Why don't you just try God for once instead of bashing Him. Ask Him to show you whether or not He is real and see what happens. You don't have to take the "Bible Thumpers'" word for it. Try it for yourself.

To Pete, if that was me who won it, I would consider that move to Florida for a year and have everything as all Florida stuff, enjoy that entire state, then come back home with the family a few years later and live love life on the Outer Banks! Otherwise, that move to VA would be considered considering it's not that far. I would at least be hiding my money in some form or fashion. Eliza, you can blame that bimbo governor of ours for the money NOT GOING to the education system any more.

All of you Bible Thumpers get off your high horse. The lottery is not a sin, it is good for our state and I will see most of you parked outside of a strip club a few days after Sunday.

To those wondering about the "Education" Lottery: The way I heard it was all the profits go to the school system, BUT, anything that WAS going to the school system before the lottery was taken away to be used on other projections. Slick, huh?

Now they will have enough money to build the visitors center overlooking a swamp or send Perdue on another business trip, maybe this time to Europe.

Gov. Perdue is going to smile all the way to the bank!

Hope to see you in the winner circle sometime. Thanks for the Tenn idea. I will get a PO box there next week. Right before I win next week. It is a game people have fun take a chance. You mit win if you don't like how it is ran. Then run for state rep Or don't play. But good luck to the winner's and hope it works out.

If he(she)were smart a move to Tenn would do and set up residence.then put a tenn address on the ticket.hint no state taxes in tenn and let the crooked state of N.C take a hike.save millions and get out of this state.
