Gibbs On Limbaugh: He Said "Really Stupid Things"

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The White House is firing back at Rush Limbaugh after the conservative talk radio host urged people not to donate to relief efforts in Haiti.

Spokesman Robert Gibbs says there are always people who say "really stupid things" during a crisis. He says it's sad that Limbaugh would use the power of his pulpit to convince people not to assist those in need.

Limbaugh said on his radio show Wednesday that he wouldn't trust that money donated to Haiti through the White House Web site would actually go to the relief efforts. He said Americans don't need to contribute to earthquake relief because they already donate to Haiti through their income taxes.

Rush and his listeners are hypocrites. True conservatives demand his arrest and execution for drug crimes. The problem is that too many of you so called "republicans" will not stand up and DEMAND arrests and trials for drug addicts, alcoholics and the repeal of the "Bill of Rights" which encourages liberalism and removes all fear of a secret police force to deal with democrats and other subversives. For shame.

Okay take the actual players out of the equation...Mr. S said "A, B, & C" and Mr. T went and told Mr. X,Y, &Z. But Mr. T only told X, Y, &Z part 'A'. Now X, Y, & Z turned on Mr. S and became closer more understanding buddies. Wow, does this sound like a dramatic scene in a show about high school aged children or what? What infantile behavior by a WHITE HOUSE representative. Sad & sickening is what this is...and those that continue to lengthen the life of this story...shame on you too.

Darren, That is the problem with this whole issue. Rush is not a politician nor is he a spokesman for a political organization. He is not involved with government at all. It's like saying Keith Olbermann or Arianna Huffington is involved in government. Exactly why is it that these "journalists", "talk show hosts", or "reporters" are considered to be involved in government. Now Gibbs is involved directly in government. What is good for America is the 1st Amendment and the rights it affords people like Rush.

Rush was saying not to donate to the government, but if one wanted to donate, they should give to the Red Cross, church organizations and other companies that were helping. Don't forget Rush raises over a million dollars each year for Muscular Dystrophy on his radio show. There is a reason he has the most listen to radio show in America. A day without Rush is like a day without sunshine.

All I have to say is these two must be on opposite sides of politics and that it takes hating a person to change a few words in order to make them look bad. I begin to wonder if Rush would try to file a defamation lawsuit. Not saying he is in the right or Gibbs either, but things like that create controversy. People like them I don't think should be involved with the government. It's just not good for America.
