Patrick Trading IndyCar For NASCAR

PHOENIX (AP) -- Danica Patrick has signed with JR Motorsports and will make her stock car racing debut in an ARCA race at Daytona International Speedway.

The IndyCar sensation unveiled her green and orange No. 7 Chevrolet at Chase Field on Tuesday.

Her first race will be Feb. 6 at Daytona -- the day before she's featured in a pair of Super Bowl ads for sponsor GoDaddy.com.

Patrick finalized a three-year contract extension last week with Andretti Autosport to run a full IndyCar schedule, but there's time for her to try NASCAR. She will drive for the team owned by Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Rick Hendrick in the second-tier Nationwide Series.

Patrick did not reveal how many NASCAR races she expects to run next season.

HOW many races has she actually WON?I've seen what she does when things go wrong for her at the track..she whines and cries [literally].She's going to get the same rude awakening so many other Indy drivers have gotten, which is that NASCAR is a totally different world. As far as I'm concerned, she's proof that there are some things women should just leave to the men.All she has going for her is her looks.

Any pretty gal would make NASCAR more interesting to watch. What a stupid and boring "sport"! LOL All auto racing is an idiotic waste of time and money. And the fans ... what a bunch of losers!

Another so-so Indy car driver that thinks they can drive NASCAR. She needs to be at the top of her game there before thinking she can come blow them all away here. Apparently she's coming with the same attitude as Tony Stewart had when he came over. She'll find out real quick how important fans are to her support. Gonna take more than a pretty face and sexy body to be competitive here. I have to agree .... NASCAR is just dying to improve their ratings and fill the stands again. Maybe if they hadn't pushed all the working class 'common people' fans aside as they were growing and kissing up to corporate America they wouldn't need to stoop to publicity stunts such as this. I still enjoy watching but nearly as much as in the past when you could only watch ESPN and the one race on CBS each year. Tired of seeing NAZICAR cater to Hendricks Racing all the time. Getting very boring.
