Gay Student Attacked, Bus Driver Fired, Others Under Review

An openly gay high school student in Houston, Texas says he asked his school bus driver and other school officials for help before he was attacked with a metal pipe.

Now, that driver is out of a job, and other actions may be taken.

Jayron Martin told police he told school officials on November 12 that another student was threatening to beat him up.

Later that day, when he got off the bus in his neighborhood, Martin says he was chased into a neighbor's garage where his attacker told him he was going to "beat the gayness out of of him."

The school bus driver has been fired. Officials say they are reviewing the actions of others at the school.

A 16-year-old student has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault. Martin's mom says she wants that charge upgraded to a hate crime.

Yes, I'm sure you believe you've debated fairly. I would've liked to have read more of your posts for myself.

Anonymous, I've noticed WITN does post a lot about homosexuality as well. Probably because it attracts a lot of attention here in the bible belt. Religious persecution? If you think it that way, how would one approach you and your bible followers repeatedly stating 'abomination!' 'sodom and gamorrah!' 'its wrong!', but how do you know its wrong? Ah, right, the book tells you. Is that not religious persecution? Anyways, to answer your question, the Koran has a extremely narrow view on homosexuality as well. I am very happy to not live in a country that is governed by the Koran. Why? Because at least in the US homosexuals are not hanged in public (ie: Iran). The koran has on average, more 'violent or negative' verses per chapter than the entire bible (on average, per book). If someone were to post about the koran on this webpage I would direct the same energy into them as I would about people that qoute the bible. So to be fair, I debate against both christians and muslims and whoever.

Derek, there are a lot of blogs about "gay" something or other. I did a little looky-loo for you but really didn't see that much. Now that you've made me aware I should be looking out for your posts, indeed, I shall be more attentive. But from what I've read here and most especially from your last post you said all I need to know. You've been applying your own personal brand of religious persecution. Because they/we don't believe homosexuality is moral and our faith is based on Jesus Christ and the Bible. So tell me, what do you think about the Koran? I'm positive muslims don't condone homosexuality among other things. Just curious as to what your answer is or are your diatribes solely directed at Christians?

Umm, anon. at 1:25, if you are directing your post towards me, have you not been keeping up with all of my posts on WITN? I suggest you do some reading, I always post under my name, so its easy to catch it. Its easy to 'attack' people that say they are christians and speak out against homosexuality, why? because they follow a book that contradicts itself, and they usually focus all of their energy on trying to stop something that's been around longer than said book. Maybe you should make sure you are not participating in any abominations before you comment on others, you know, 'cast the first stone'. Me, I know I am not a model for christianity, nor will I ever be, but if you are going to point out the rules of something, maybe you should make sure you should follow them all yourself. As for non-christians that speak out against homosexuality, well they should travel outside of NC and the US to see how the world really is. Take care.

And you KNOW all these people are Because of your gifts of omniscience, omnipotence, & omnipresence give me a hint. Do you personally know all these people? Do you hang out in their homes like a fly on the wall observing what they do and say? Are you able to read their minds and know their hearts? Tell me, do you also have a degree in theology? Did you have a relationship with Christ that gave/gives you understanding of the Bible regarding the traditions and laws of the Old and New Testaments? You know how the shed Blood of Jesus Christ is applicable in the Christian's Also homosexuality (male/male & female/female) is unacceptable. It's been my exp that men (Christ & Non-Christ alike) are more tolerant of girl sex. When do you attack the people that aren't Christians and don't agree with the homosexual lifestyle? You have a very focused dislike for the Christian against homosexuality everyone else seems to be outside your line of fire. Why is that?

like denouncing religion? guilty. I see christians eating at red lobster on sundays. guilty. women wearing pants. guilty. christians with tattoos. guilty. I often here a lot of peopling cursing, guilty I suppose, or wearing two different fabrics, guilty too. Hmm, what other abominations to people routinely break, but only care about pointing out abominations when it is between two consenting homosexuals (male only, for some reason lesbians get a pass)? is that deviant?

Deviant behavior-departing from the acceptable norm. Norm is very important to the definition. The Bible says we have a sin nature not a deviant nature. The sin nature is what enables us to act in a deviant manner.

I won't try to find verses but I will explain it. Definition of deviant is a person who's behavior deviates from what is acceptable. Sin is not acceptable in "God's" eyes. Bible says all men are sinners. Point given.
