Gary Rowley's beloved dog Brindle ran away in 1999, when he apparently used his snout to open a sliding glass door and escape.
Rowley thought he had lost Brindle forever, until a couple in Oklahoma contacted him through facebook. They said they found the dog hiding under a bush and after a local vet found a microchip in Brindle's neck, they tracked him down.
Brindle's years on the road have not been kind, he has heartworms, bad teeth and a dislocated hip.
No one knows how Brindle managed to get so far away from home, but now that he's back, Rowley says his number one priority is to keep him happy, comfortable and contained.
