Gas Prices Rising

Have you noticed gas getting more expensive? You're not imagining it.

The Lundberg Survey shows the average price of regular gasoline in the United States has jumped almost 18 cents in two weeks to $2.66. It's the first rise in national retail price of gas since late July. That's about the price we're seeing around Greenville this morning.

AAA says the average in North Carolina is $2.61.

Snake Oil: If this were a "free market" I would buy your reasoning, but its not. Oil going up to $147 a barrel a while back had nothing to do with formulations, supply or demand or environmental policy. It was merely bidding up the price in the futures market. We've got oil out the wazoo right now. So much gas the refineries are closing. Nothing but "gambling" on the market and we're paying at the pump for it.

Barlow, while I agree that "speculators" drove up the price, the oil market should have never gone public. As soon as it went on the stock market, we were doomed. This price increase is for the annual "we are going to srew you with the winter formula change". I don't blame this on Bush or Obama, its is going to happen every year. I will blame environmentalists for taking things too far. Like regulation for carbon taxes in the trade and cap bill. This is going to cost each and everyone of you a wad....I will blame this on people not wanting us to drill for oil off of NC when its a natural resource for us. I blame those that think wind and solar can replace our current needs for electricity in this state. I blame those that think those electric cars will replace gasoline, when there will not be enough power on the grid as it is. Ignorance runs bliss with our politicians in this state.

Yeah, wouldnt u know that its time for the gas prices to rise again. The last time it rose was during the fourth of July. Come on get real, they only raise the prices during holidays. They know people are going to be traveling a way to make their pockets richer. After Thanksgiving and Christmas comes and goes the prices will go back down. Watch and you will see. They really watching out for the economy,THEIRS!

What ever we do as Americans don't blame Obama when the price of gas goes over $4.00 Plus a gallon like we did Bush. He might go around the world again calling us bad ,evil Americans again and start crying and apologizing to the worlds people we are out to get him not elected again. We know Obama does not take criticism well. OK so if the price of gas shoots to over $4.00 a gallon even though Obama is president now , we must go back and blame the Bush man. We can not,can not upset the great one he gets so upset if you ask him a hard question. Remember it's still all President Bushs fault - Lead us on Big "O" we love high gas prices it's just like one more big tax. Thank you
