Kanye West has apologized for an outburst at the MTV Video Music Awards that was directed at country-pop sweetheart Taylor Swift.
West interrupted Swift's acceptance speech at Sunday's VMAs and seemed to suggest Beyonce deserved to win.
On his blog later, he wrote: "I'M SOOOOO SORRY TO TAYLOR SWIFT AND HER FANS AND HER MOM. I SPOKE TO HER MOTHER RIGHT AFTER AND SHE SAID THE SAME THING MY MOTHER WOULD'VE SAID. SHE IS VERY TALENTED!"
For her part, Swift called the evening "interesting."
After Beyonce won Video of the Year honors for her hit "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)," she called Swift to the stage to finish her acceptance speech.
The VMAs featured an opening tribute to Michael Jackson that included Madonna reminiscing about her relationship with the King of Pop and a performance by his sister, Janet Jackson.
Perezhilton.com has posted photos the website says is of West swigging from an alcohol bottle at the awards.
