NC Woman Found Alive 19 Hours After Crash

A North Carolina woman has been found about 19 hours after her sports utility vehicle ran off a road and down an embankment.

The Times-News of Burlington reported that children on bicycles found 38-year-old Sandra Elaine Fuller of Pittsboro on Sunday evening after she crawled out to a roadside. Authorities said she was dehydrated, but her injuries did not appear life threatening.

Fuller dropped a friend off between Pittsboro and Burlington shortly before midnight Saturday.

Highway Patrol Trooper R.J. Fuquay says Fuller rolled off a curving two-lane road, sailed past a mobile home vacant on the holiday weekend, and down a hill leading to a small creek. The SUV was covered by trees and brush and invisible from the road.

Who ever said something about booze being involved is an idiot. I don't recall the article saying anything about that. It is a miracle that these boys were able to get her help...she did have several broken bones and needs prayers for her recovery.

Betty Anne, don't get so excited. If he had called 919 he would have reached an area code. 911 is emergency!

It's refreshing to know that "some" folks understand what they read. You should have known that the officer didn't see the accident and wait "90 hours?" Where did that come from? You don't have to be drunk to have an accident! Get real folks!

Betty Anne, I am sure the story is stating what the patrolman thought happened based on evidence once the accident was discovered, not because he saw it happen. I must say my first thought was the same as Mike comment. Bless her!

WHY did this NC STATE TROOPER FUQUAY ignore this woman for 90 hours? She needed help. When he saw her run off the road, he should have called 919. Our LAW ENFORCEMENT officers in NORTH CAROLINA have a REAL PROBLEM. Not helping people THAT'S JUST WRONG, IMHO.

I guess the booze had time to wear off during those 19 hours. What caused her to wreck? One last party to end the summer, I bet.
