Vick Expresses Remorse, Signs With Eagles

Michael Vick says he accepts blame for not stopping an illegal dogfighting ring that he bankrolled. He spoke in an interview with "60 Minutes" set to air Sunday.

Vick tells CBS Sports anchor James Brown that he feels "some
tremendous hurt behind what happened." He adds that "I should
have took the initiative to stop it all ... I didn't -- I didn't
step up. I wasn't a leader."

Brown asks the former Falcons quarterback if he was more
concerned about his playing career or the dogs he hurt, and Vick
replies, "Football don't even matter."

Vick also discusses his time in prison and admits he cried at night in his cell.

Vick agreed to a two-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles Thursday night.

I hope that every time the eagles take the field they are booed for this terrible mistake they have made. I agree that he should work but it should be cleaning cages at the spca. This is not the messg. we need to send to our young. I hope the two years he has been away has taken it's tole on his ability. DOWN WITH THE EAGLES.

Good grief. The guy got caught. He got arrested. He was charged. He went to prison, served his time, and paid his debt to society. He's been bending over backwards to try to make it right since then. Is it fair to hold this over his head for the rest of his life? GO EAGLES!!!!

I sometimes wonder if anyone remembers that Vick only plead guilty to "Conspiracy to Travel in Interstate Commerce in Aid of Unlawful Activities and to Sponsor a Dog in an Animal Fighting Venture" (from his plea agreement.) In the VA state case: in Nov 2008, he "pleaded guilty in Surry County Circuit Court to one count of dogfighting and not guilty to one count of cruelty to animals, which the state then dropped. Circuit Court Judge Samuel Campbell handed down a three-year suspended sentence" -(NYTimes). But don't forget what he seems to be: "In court documents released August 24 (2007), he admitted to buying pit bulls and property in Smithfield, Virginia, where the dogfighting venture took place. He also admitted he and co-defendants...participated in the killing of six to eight dogs that did not fight well." -(from CNN.Com) His tears about he should have done are barely drops in the pool HE used to kill at least one dog. He still hasn't paid for the lives-only the "fighting".

This idiot drowned and choked to death dogs that wouldn't fight, say what you want about he has paid his dues,I say bull caca doo doo because that is all I can say on here. I hope that the eagles never win a game this whole season. Talk about sending the wrong msg to kids looking up to him as a role model. Yea kill animals and spend a couple months in jail and come right back out to your fabulous life making millions of dollars. and you people are the same ones talking about why this world is so screwed up. What a joke you all are. I will pray that he gets both legs broke on the first play and maybe someone will hold his head in a puddle til he drowns,it would only be too good for him.
