Growing Athletes

If it seems like professional athletes are getting bigger and bigger, you're right!

A new Duke University study finds over the past 100 years olympic swimmers and sprinters have grown at a much faster rate than the regular population.

While the average human is about one-point nine inches taller since 1900, the fastest swimmers have grown four and a half inches, and the elite runners have grown six-point-four inches!

The study's researchers say they can predict these increases using a theory based on animal locomotion and several mathematical formulas.
