United Way Pacesetter Campaign Kicks Off In Pitt County

With the tough economy, fundraising has become more important and more challenging for non-profit organizations.

The United Way of Pitt County began to tackle that challenge by kicking off it's "Pacesetter" campaign Thursday on the campus of Pitt Community College.

The fundraising effort involves a dozen large companies and organizations that set the pace for the United Way's fundraising efforts throughout the year.

Pacesetter organizations work within their own organizations to raise money for the United Way through employee contributions and fundraising efforts such as raffles and cookouts.

The United Way has pledged to provide funding to 19 different community service based organizations in Pitt County this year.

Mr. T is partially correct. Everyone should look at the United Way and their political affiliation. The have chosen not to support the Boy Scouts all over the country because they said they did not want homosexual males being scout leaders. Statistics alone show this is a legit concern. Most males who sexually assault boys are in fact homosexuals. Beyond this there is no need for the United Way. They are nothing more than a filter organization that takes a nice little cut for themselves. You can donate DIRECTLY to the charity of your choice and every penney goes to your charity. My company quit working with the United Way for this very reason. They took too much off the top and with todays computer technology it is easy to send money directly where you want it to go.

Before you donate your hard earned money to this racket, be sure and read the little booklet of charities that they give your money to. A very large percentage is to African American, Hispanic, and Gay Organizations, and the ACLU.There are absolutely NO organizations catering to White people.Do yourself a favor and donate to the American Red Cross or the NRA. These groups help everyone, regardless of race.
