Pet Airways Takes Off

It's bone voyage for pets, who now have their own airline. A new company has launched the first-ever all-pet airline

The airline officially took off Tuesday from Long Island's Republic Airport, flying man's best friend and cats to five cities across the U.S.; New York, Baltimore-Washington, Chicago, Denver and Los Angeles.

Tickets start at $149.00 and go up, depending on the size of the animal and the destination. Each flight plane can hold about 50 pets as the main cabins have been retooled to house animal carriers.

Flights on Pet Airways are booked up for the next two months.

They're hoping to get permission to transport birds soon.

How nice. They can share fleas and all. Will there be a rule that they have to have a clean bill of heatlth first? It WOULD make sense to prevent the spread of anything that one might possibly have. Just a thought.
