Reaction To Racist E-Mail Sent By Senator's Aide

Controversy is swirling around an e-mail sent by a legislative aide for a Tennessee lawmaker.

State Senator Diane Black's aide, Sherri Goforth, admitted to sending an e-mail depicting President Obama with wide eyes in a black background, according to a Nashville T-V station.

Now-- some lawmakers want the aide fired.

Black says Goforth has been reprimanded and she had no idea about the e-mail.

The photo from the e-mail is below.

The e-mails were meant to be racist, humiliating and dehumanizing, and they are, point black. It shows how ignorant some people still are and how little progress have been made on race relations in this country. Barack Obama is our first Black president. Remember the one drop rule? I have one Caucasian parent and I have been considered Black for the past 50 years. Has that changed now that we have a Black president with Caucasian blood? Am I no long Black. Does that make me any better?

Hello racism goes all ways. There are people of all races that simply don't like someone because of their skin. If I hear or see something that may be offensive to me I stay away from that person, they let me know where I stand in their book! Everyone has a right to say what they want. Racism isn't dead and won't be for a long time. There's still alot of people down South who think it's still illegal to be in a bi-racial relationship. So everybody should just get over, white people need to understand that some black people are going to view them as racist and black people need to understand that some white people are going to view them as racist as well. That's the beauty of our country is that we can think and say what we please. You can't please all of the people all of the time shoot you can barely please some of the people some of the time. Everybody should just get over it like Obama did not evryone is going to like you, didn't your momma teach you that as a kid!

Oh Lavon, by the way State Senator Black is a White, Middleaged, Republican! I guess that is why she had her aid cause this contoversy, to offset what Letterman said about the rape of Govn. Palin's 14 year old daughter! You are probably right though its not the same! Imus in the Morning???

Well Lavon I don't see in this article where the State Senator or the aid were republican. As usual you like to blame everything wrong on Republicans. All your emails are the same! It would be like me always saying you are going by the Liberal Democrat playbook and blaiming everything on Former President Bush, or calling people names when you don't have anything of substance to say. The fact of the matter is you are probably right, it is normal for the republican party to get tired of hearing racism everytime something insignificant occurs, but if we point out how your president and your congress are spending us into the worse problem this formerly great nation faces, we are racist. You didn't see me on here complaining when you liberal democrats constantly made jokes about Former President Bush! Get over it!
