HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Marshall University released A.J. Graham from his scholarship Wednesday morning, hours after he was arrested and charged with robbery with a firearm in Florida.

“Due to the situation, I have decided to release A.J. from his scholarship,” Marshall University Head Football Coach Mark Snyder said through a written statement.

According to a report from the Tallahassee Police Department, three people were robbed Friday night by gunpoint as they were walking to a party on Constitution Circle.

According to one of the victims, "as they started to pass a stock gray Chevy Impala with tinted windows, the driver rolled down the window, pointed a semi-auto handgun at him 'cocked Gangster Style', and stated 'put it in the car'."

The report states two men got out of the Impala, pointed a gun in the face of one of the victims and demanded money.

Police later identified one of the suspects as A.J. Graham, who according to one witness was at the party earlier that night. He was arrested at his home without incident. The search continues for the second suspect.

A spokesperson with the Marshall Athletics Department says there is precedent and a possibility the scholarship could be reinstated if the charges are dropped or Graham is found not guilty.

The quarterback from Godby High School in Tallahassee threw for 38-hundred yards and 38 touchdowns. He picked Marshall over offers from Kansas State, Clemson and Illinois. He was listed in recruiting materials as 6'4" and 195 pounds, but the jail website lists him at 6'3" and 160 pounds.

This guy has about as much sense as those blocks that is at the end of his jail cell. What a selfish, troublemaking moron for basically throwing his football scholarship away! He just threw away what could have been a potential NFL career, one career that has all kinds of money out there just waiting to come to you, a career that seems to be lots of fun, and a career that gets you just about anything that you want from other people. He just ruined it for himself. Way to go coach Snyder!

Smart move by the coach. These children just don't get it. The dude had a free ride....all he had to do was play football and have his buddies take his exams for him, and he would have made it. Dumb dumb DUMB. Kudos to the coach though. He apparently has class.
