Poll: More Americans Calling Themselves Pro-Life

According to a Gallup Poll, 51 percent of Americans now call themselves pro-life rather than pro-choice on the issue of abortion.

That's the first time a majority gave that answer in 15 years that Gallup has asked the question.

The findings marked a significant shift over 12 months. A year
ago, 50 percent said they were pro-choice and 44 percent pro-life.
In the new poll, 42 percent said they were pro-choice.

The new survey showed that Americans remained deeply divided on
the legality of abortion -- with 23 percent saying it should be illegal in all circumstances, 22 percent saying it should be legal under any circumstances and 53 percent saying it should be legal only under certain circumstances.

What is the difference between a woman drowning her one week old baby in a bathtub and having an abortion at three months? In both cases they CHOSE to kill. Why is one a murder and the other a choice?

of that 51% how many women would still get an abortion if faced with the decision. Doesn't matter because Roe v Wade will not be overturned. If it does, what will Conservatives use to get elected?

Still pro-choice! A woman does, and should always, have the right to choose. How could this be called a free country if something such as safe abortions are taken away? If abortions were illegal or more difficult to have, think of the number of children in the country that you people would be griping about having to take care of with your taxes. The majority of abortions are done to women in the low-income bracket. They're the ones on welfare, food stamps, Medicaid & public housing. So gripe about this sort of population control, or gripe about the number of people (including children) that rely upon public assistance.

How did "pro-choice" and "pro-life" get to be mutually exclusive?? They aren't!!! We can only wonder what the answer would be if the options were "Pro-choice" and "No-choice" - of "Pro life" or "pro death"

What is "safe" about any abortion? Any procedure is absolutely horrific. There are people who can't have children as easily as others who would be GLAD to have any one of those babies. People have used abortion like birth control. Oh, I'm pregnant, I don't want it, better kill it. You make the choice to get in bed without protection, you know what the consequences are. People need to take responsibility for themselves and stop punishing the babies for it.

If it was up to me, every pregnancy would be greeted with joy and no one would have to have an abortion. Sadly that isn't true even for married women. Do people think women didn't have abortions till they were made legal? Will it make you feel better to face your Higher Power and say you made them kill or mail themselves by denying them safe abortions? You can't take all the staircases, gas ovens and coathangers out of the world. They will abort when in stress. How about just reducing the stresses on them and see if that helps and stop worrying about 'the laws.' Taking the safe abortions away only means you want to control others. (You let me know if that works with your teens, people!)
