Earth Day

There will be observances nationwide, including several in Eastern Carolina where people will be planting trees.

Earth day was the idea of Wisconsin Senator Gaylord Nelson. He hoped the day would provide unity to the grassroots environmental movement and increase ecological awareness. It did just that, the first Earth Day was celebrated on April 22, 1970 and in that following July of that year the environmental protection agency was established by a special executive order.

Ever since 1970, millions of Americans participate in Earth Day rallies, marches, and educational programs. They also plant trees and clean up litter.

Sorry, as a result of obesse people and the global warming they cause, I will not ba able to participate at this years festivities. Since environmentalist are going after PCS and most of the local jobs deemed "polluters" by far left whackos, I cannot afford to plant trees this year. I decided that I would cut my grass instead. I know this is adding to global warming and CO2 emissions, plus leaking oil and rubber litter. I hope all of you walked to work on that day....polluters

This would have been helpful a few days ago. Some of us don't remember when earth day is but HEY...we planted 5 new trees in the yard the other day. That counts!
