If you go in looking for spirits in one Arkansas bar on Easter, you might just find the Holy Spirit instead.
The new River Church in Little Rock is inviting folks to bring their bibles to a bar!
Thousands will atttend traditional services in churches Sunday. Pastor Shane Montgomery wants to be different and hold his first official church service in a private section of the bar.
"I think church is wherever you go," said Montgomery. "So the location of church is less important as it is the heart of the people that are there."
"We're sponsoring what we call bar church and basically we're doing church in a bar," Montgomery said. "Our belief is Jesus came to Earth and we need to go where people are just like us and if he can do that we can do that too."
Montgomery says many folks who don't attend church are spiritual but are intimidated by the church setting.
He says alcohol will not be served. The idea, he stresses, is if people don't go to church, church is going where the people are.
The church is nondenominational and has about 30 members.
It may hold Mother's Day and Father's Day services at bars too.
