Man Arrested For Shooting Woman With Arrow In Big Apple

Police have arrested a man they say accidentally shot a woman with an arrow on a Bronx street.

Eric Collins was arrested Thursday on charges of reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon in the bizarre episode Sunday in the tranquil Riverdale neighborhood.

No one immediately returned messages left at possible phone numbers for Collins in Riverdale and suburban Yonkers. Police didn't know his lawyer's name.

The New York Police Department's chief spokesman, Paul Browne, says the 27-year-old Collins was moving into his grandparents' former Riverdale home and fired off an arrow into a fence.

Browne says the arrow went through the fence and hit Denise Delgado-Brown in the stomach. She was hospitalized but has since been released.

No doubt it was one of those assault bows with no known sporting purpose.

This is why responsible weapon owners(gun or bow) are aware of what is beyond there intended target when practicing.
