Free Food Promotion Has People Camping Out

How far would you go to receive a free meal in this tough economy? One hundred people staked claim in a chicken restaurant's parking lot to receive a free meal a week for one year.

People camped out Wednesday in front of a Chick-Fil-A in Morehead City for a chance to receive free food for a year.

As part of their grand opening the Chick-Fil-A off of Highway 70 will give the first 100 people 52 coupons for one free value meal. Chick-Fil-A representatives say the coupons are worth nearly $500.00.

People are taking any opportunity for a free lunch in today's slumping economy. Some chicken crazed campers say they showed up around 1:15 a.m. Wednesday.

The coupons wil be handed out Wednesday morning at 6:00 a.m.

Anyone complaining about what Chik Fil A is doing here is a moron! ChikFilA gives more to charitable organizations and helps the needy much more than many of us can do. If they want to do this for the first 52 then it's up to them. Quit crying and be thankful for this added restaurant that serves people in more ways than just food!

I imagine those who waited were already getting assistance. As one said, the ones who need this help is on the job. Par for the course. I like the idea of one ticket for one meal per person. I really like Chick-fil-A.

Why not give away only one coupon per person instead of 52 to the first 100 people - Spread the joy!!!!!

Yes, because the needy are the only ones that should be rewarded in our society. Forget rewarding those that sacrifice and work hard. Sheesh people, no wonder we are in the boat we are in.
