Students Plead Guilty To Obama Bear Incident

Two Western Carolina University students have pleaded guilty to charges related to dumping a dead bear with Barack Obama signs on its head on campus.

The Asheville Citizen-Times reported that brothers Marvin Caleb Williams and Mathew Colton Williams will be sentenced Tuesday on
misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and wildlife violations.

Marvin Williams was 20 years when he was arrested and his brother was 18.

Maintenance workers found the 75-pound bear cub in front of the school's administration building in October. Obama campaign yard signs were stapled together and placed over the bear's head.

Western Carolina University authorities said at the time that the incident was a student prank, not a political statement.

The story does not say the two students killed the bear. They could have found the bear already dead. Maybe the "one" talked the poor bear to death. Worse yet, maybe michelle obuma looked at it and it dropped dead.

I do not hunt but have alot of friends that do. I fail to see the humor is in this story. I have no problem with hunters killing for sport when they consume their kill. But this was not the case. And as far as "a student prank, not a political statement", please. If it was a prank, there would have been no campaign stickers on the bears head. Oh and Sam, do you know a girl that lives in williamston named Charlie?

This is so funny. I just keep laughing every time I hear about this going on. I can't stop laughing. hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Krys, it sounds like you need to get a life as well. What are you, against hunting and fishing? I would hate to see that someone from Carteret County would be against fishing. You must be one of the PETA fans who are hating on the boys for something they did that was funny. You are starting to make me laugh even harder than what I had earlier.

Wow, this story is repulsive a student prank should not be the excuse, they are old enough to know that the bear was a living, feeling creature, not to mention it was a baby bear. I want to hear what their sentence will be, and I hope they are no longer enrolled in that school. If they are capable of killing and inocent baby bear then what will they graduate to when they get older? I also can not believe that with the story we are commenting on people are looking over the real issue and criticizing other people. Some people just need to get a life and those two college adults should be used as and example and punished to show that those types of things are not accepted in the civilized world!

I don't know how stupid they are, but I'm sure they're not very bright.

Hey T. They are probably TOO stupid to spell college, kind of like you are TOO stupid to use correct grammar in a sentence when calling others out on non-existent spelling errors. Priceless.

I can picture both of these hillbilly's. One tooth per head, smell worse than the bear, and I'll bet both are married to their first cousins. Probably to stupid to spell college. Admissions must be hard up to accept these punks.
