Gov. Beverly Perdue's plan to release data about North Carolina's share of the federal stimulus money and state contracts is moving ahead.
Perdue announced Friday a Web site where citizens can track how
the $6.1 billion in stimulus funds for North Carolina are spent.
Perdue's office also said another site designed to let people search for information on all state contracts and grant awards above $10,000 will go online in the next 30 days.
A steering committee meeting Friday dedicated $900,000 to support the "NC OpenBook" initiative.
Perdue campaigned last year on creating the access and signed an
executive order in January to begin the process. It should be fully implemented in six months.
