Valentine's Cards For The Troops

It's not Valentine's Day yet, but don't tell that to Marines at New River Air Station in Onslow County.

Students at Dixon Elementary school worked with Onslow County Parks and Recreation and sent Valentines to the troops. Hundreds of cards in all shapes and sizes were delivered to Marines Tuesday. Many of them read the cards and some even kept them to post on their bedroom walls as a reminder of support.

A 4th grader at Dixon Elementary not involved in the project heard the announcement and tore pages out of her favorite coloring book for the troops.

Dear Troops, I for one wish you a Happy Valentines Day. Sorry I can't send you a card, but I can't afford it. You see, our politicians have taken all the money. They even scammed money for your own protection. Some greedy bastards pocketed money from your own life protection equipment. They made a government bid for the good stuff, then they said "Na", we will pocket most of this money and only send "minimum" required stuff. No one in the government is gonna check us any how, they are too lazy getting all those "Paid Holidays", sick leave, etc, and I know that no one is gonna get my job because they might just hire someone that will make the rest of us look bad. They won't do that, because it will make them look bad. Just to let you know that most of all here in America are supporting you and your efforts, but not the politicians and the government employees that are paid only to show up to be on the time clock. Good luck to you all, and may God help us here in America...
